The simplest way to identify a brake caliper is to go by the casting number. It is a piece of metal datasheet or tag commonly attached to the side of the caliper block. If the I.D tag is still intact you will find the “caliper model” and “part number” located here.

Because of its excessive use, it often gets damaged or be missing.

Other ways to identify the make and type of calipers is by a stamped logo directly on the block (see the pictures below).
